Badger Relocation Works
Earlier in November saw DTMS Group carrying out Badger relocation works, under the supervision of a licensed Ecologist.
The works were being carried out by one of our clients in Chesterfield. The badgers were being moved, for their own safety from outlying setts. These are small setts used by a small number of badgers when nearby food sources are in season.
One way doors are fitted to the entrance of the sett surrounded by wire mesh. The doors are designed to let the badgers out of the sett, but will not let them back in. The wire mesh surrounding the door, stops the badgers being able to dig back in.
When the doors have been in position for a minimum of three weeks, then the ground can be excavated. This gives the badgers time to leave the sett.
