Weed Control

Weeds are a nuisance. They grow in most outdoor areas and can reduce soil productivity, kill the plants you want to keep and in extreme cases be dangerous to humans and animals. With over 20 years experience in the industry, our weed control team can safely control all unwanted vegetation with the minimum of fuss.

Our range of weed control services includes:

Highway weed control. Uncontrolled weeds can cause problems on kerb channels and footways, damaging surface infrastructure and collecting litter. With over 20 years experience working for county councils nationwide, our highway weed control team can use a total kill service on kerb channels, flagged and block sett areas, cobbled back streets, footways, roundabout setts, splitter islands, shopping centres and high streets.

We also provide a selective weed control service for verges controlling weeds such as Ragwort whilst allowing wild grasses to continue growing.

Selective weed control in amenity grassed areas. Sometimes total weed control is inappropriate. For broad leaved weeds in grass areas such as parks, gardens and public open spaces, our amenity weed control team use selective techniques that kill the weeds without harming the turf itself.

Agricultural weed control. With 20 years experience in agricultural weed control, our specialist team can provide selective weed control for grassland that removes weeds such as thistles, docks, buttercups, nettles and ragwort without damaging the grass crop. Alternatively we can carry out a total kill weed spray for cultivation and reseeding.

For arable land, our National Proficiency Test Council qualified team use All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) with low ground pressure tyres that are able to travel over wet ground without damaging valuable crops. We also use ATVs to control slug problems using a broadcast slug pelleter in accordance with current codes of practice.

Noxious and invasive weed control. Noxious and invasive weeds can be hazardous to animals, people and even building infrastructure. For that reason, every public or private landowner is legally obliged to control the spread of certain noxious weeds on their property.

That’s where the DTMS Group comes in. With over 20 years experience in the industry, our specialist team can control the spread of ragwort, Japanese knotweed, Himalayan balsam and giant hogweed, giving you peace of mind and helping you fulfil your legal requirements.
