Waste and recycling centres are often targeted by opportunist thieves, as certain waste products can be of value, and therefore, sites need to be kept secure.
The North Yorkshire County Council site in Ripon has always had an area of land outside the fence line, which had become overgrown, and due to its easy access from the A61 Ripon bypass, it had potential to provide a good place for break ins.
DTMS Group were successful in a competitive tender exercise, to clear the area of land, and to install a high quality, bespoke security fence to extend the site boundary, and reduce the ‘break-in’ potential.
The fence specification included, substantial concrete foundations with steel base plates, 3 metre high, manufactured steel posts and anti climb mesh.
On completion of the fence, we planted a native hedge along the front of the new boundary, to help screen it in the future.
