The DTMS group as part of its working ethos is strongly committed to improving the environment whenever it can. Because of this they were chosen by the ANOB to assist in a Hay Meadow Restoration Programme just outside Kirkby Malzeard.
The programme involved the use of a forage harvester and a specially adapted quad bike with a seed collector installed to harvest the crop of special grasses and flowers. The seeds were then carefully transported to the donor field, spread and harrowed in.
This will have the result of a new hay meadow with a balance of grasses and flowers which will over time help preserve the area enabling it to hold on to its accreditation as an area of outstanding beauty.
